LEARN TO ROW  June 20-30, 2022   Utilizing CRRC training, recreational, and racing singles, 8 students completed an 8 day Learn To Row class. Coaching and on-the-water training focused on building individual sculling skills and techniques. Several novices participated in our September Fun Day Scrimmages with Annapolis Rowing Club.

DIAMOND STATE MASTERS REGATTA  July 23-24, 2022   Seven CRRC rowers, coaches, and volunteers braved the July heat and humidity that marks the DSMR. Coach Greg Doyle, Mamie Doyle, Sue Collins, Linda Reed, Lucy Mitchell, Tim Rhynalds, and Tom Schreppler competed in the following events:  Womens C-D 1x,  Womens Ltwt D-J 2x,  Mens G-J 1x,  Mixed D-E 2x,  Mens G-J 2x,  Womens D-J 4x,  Mixed AA-C 8+.  CRRC brought home gold, silver and memories of exciting races. Many thanks to Coach John Wagner and other club volunteers who provided much appreciated support.                    FYI – 2023 DSMR June 24-25.

CALM WATERS ROWING CAMP  July 30-31, 2022  In order to provide a rowing camp experience for our members, CRRC hosted Calm Waters Rowing from Lancaster, VA for a weekend of sculling instruction, on-the-water coaching, and video analysis.  For the most part the weather cooperated and 10 club members participated.

MD SPECIAL OLYMPICS  August 13 and 20, 2022  Every year Washington College hosts the Maryland Special Olympics kayak events.  CRRC volunteers and supports this opportunity for Maryland special olympians.

CRRC AND ARC SCRIMMAGE DAY  September 18, 2022  On a slightly breezy Sunday in September, CRRC hosted ARC (Annapolis Rowing Club) for a day of scrimmaging fun on the Chester River.  All club members, all ages and rowing experience were encouraged to participate.  Though a “fun” event, competition prevailed at the “attention, go” signal.  Annapolis and Chester River sprinted (1000m) in 1x, 2x, 4x, 4-, 4+, and 8+ races.  Two of our novice rowers were in winning boats!   Way to go Wayles and Erin!  Special thanks to Coach John for course safety and management,   Dock Master Roger, and Time Keeper Donnie!
